The Sweetest

“My Little Girl”

Gotta hold on easy as I let you go.
Gonna tell you how much I love you, though you think you already know.
I remember I thought you looked like an angel wrapped in pink so soft and warm.
You’ve had me wrapped around your finger since the day you were born.

You’re beautiful baby from the outside in.
Chase your dreams but always know the road that’ll lead you home again.
Go on, take on this whole world.
But to me you know you’ll always be, my little girl.
-Tim McGraw

What can I say?!? She’s my one and only <3

Another thing that’s sweet is the set of goodies that I used from American Crafts to make my current project!

Sweet

Its called Crate Paper and I absolutely love it! The colors are wonderful, it has a very ‘homey’ feel to it and there’s so much you can do with it. The top of the frame is not tacked down since I still need to choose which picture I want to put in it…

Sweet2

I have yet to brave putting paper in my sewing machine; thankfully, I didn’t have to! This is a sticker that came in one of their embellishment packs. So cute!

Sweet1

See?!? I love this whole line, its seriously SWEET!

Sweet3

I totally stepped outside my comfort zone with this project… I layered lots of papers with different colors/patterns and I used embellishments that I normally wouldn’t. I also layered embellishments too; the rosette and ‘Sweetest’ chipboard are two separate pieces from two separate embellishment packs. Overall, a very fun project!

What I Used:
American Crafts Products from the ‘Crate Paper’ Collection
Stampin’ Up! Rich Razzleberry ink
Scotch ATG
Zip Dry paper glue
Foam Squares
Bead stem – found in floral deparment
Jolee’s stickers

Thanks

“Thank You”

There were nights where I was sure
I wouldn’t see the morning sun
And there were days that seemed so dark
I couldn’t wait for night to come
I couldn’t stand to think about how
My life used to be
And how without a single warning
It all slipped away from me
Like a fool I thought I could fight
The shadows on my own
To the dark I was no stranger
But this was stronger than I’d known
And by the time I knew that I was in too deep I’d gone too far
And the light that used to guide me
Had faded from my heart
And I found myself in places I thought I’d never go
Surrounded by stangers I was so far away from home
And I don’t know how you found me
All I know is I owe you everything
Yes I do

Whether you’re in an upward swing or a downward spiral; there is always room for a little gratitude 🙂

For this card, I needed to think outside the box because my first thought, when I looked at this embossing folder, was bees and I knew that more could be done with this pattern if I just put my mind to it.

image2

Yes, its a honeycomb pattern…but its also a hexagon. So I figured, why not fill the hexagons with smaller ones made from some pretty patterned paper!

My ‘out of the box’ thinking soon took me to some really sweet ribbon that I picked up at a recent scrapbook convention. I love this ribbon! Its satiny, shiny and the color is so pretty! To make this flower, I simply ran some thread along the edge, pulled it tight and tied it off. The center bit of bling is just a button 🙂
